Training & Activities

Winter training begins 10am Sundays.  Please arrive at 9:45am to sign and help set up.
Our club promotes positive rewards-based training methods which helps build a strong bond between you and your dog.  These methods provide a good foundation for graduate members to use and progress on to further training and activities.

To discuss a new membership please contact our lead trainer Kathy Volkmer.
Phone: 0418 313 606 or email: [email protected]

In addition to weekly training see our Events page for extra activities on offer.

Mans Best Friend (New Member Program)
New members are always welcome, the club holds new member classes regularly. These classes run for 6 weeks and give both dog and handler an excellent introduction to training.  You should be ready to commit to the first 5 weeks of class as there are limited opportunities to make up for any lost classes.  At the end of the classes, all dogs undertake an assessment of their learning and on successful completion receive a 'mans best friend' certificate.
On completion of the course you are invited to stay on and develop these foundations with further training and activities.  Please read the information for new members.

Our club offers training in a group environment with a mix of ages and size dogs.  If your dog has specific training needs or a behaviour that needs work, a one on one session with a trainer may be more suited to your situation.  See our list of external training options available in the area.
